No and no. I think that how you deal with either situation is the key. Even and much wanted and planned pregnancy and baby can cause a lot of stress if you and your partner are not in a happy relationship. My first baby was planned my second was not but there was not much difference between the two as far as our relationship went. I guess having a baby can only strengthen what is strong already, and it can weaken what is weak already. You cant expect a baby to change things for the better, that is up to you. You need to support one another and plan according to your circumstances whether you have a baby on the way unexpectedly or if you have made the decision to have one. Never blame the baby for a marriage breakup.

My boyfriend and I did not plan our baby but we have been together for 7 years and at 26 we were not unready for a child. Our baby was born the 11th of January and while I was pregnant as well as now we have grown closer than we ever were before. It is just one more exciting experience that we get to share.
I don't believe that a couple will separate due to having children any more than they would during any other life changing event. If your relationship is strong you and your partner will make it thru.

we waited 4 years, planned, and though we do argue a bit more on how to do things, and have sex considerably less, we still do absolutely love each other and are in love with each other. it has brought us together in a whole new way. i don't think that an unplanned pregnancy necessarily contributes to divorce. i think a breakdown in communication and variances on how to do certain things, like handle money and raise kids, does contribute.

Planned and waited and baby definitely brought us closer and the funny thing is sex has been better than ever (we do have to be more spontaneous though, baby naps are very short)
My best friend had a surprise baby and they are extremely happy - it's all about the relationship prior to the baby I think...

We waited and planned and for a while there it drove us apart. Sex was no longer spontaneous... it was more like a job.
Now that we have the baby though it has brought us closer together.
