Is Excessive Sweating Is An Indication Of Some Health Problem In Kids?

Posted on July 2nd, 2009 in Articles by Tangkau

My two year old kid always sweats during bed time . Even if the room temperature is lowered down, he sweats like he is bathing. His doctor did his blood screening regarding the matter but she found it normal. But I am worried whether it is normal or some kind of medical problem.

Yes! Check with your doctor about further testing… diabetes?

I would def get it checked out. According to the Hyperhidrosis Society (expert medical organization all about sweat) excessive sweating that is all over the body can be a sign of something serious. Go to http://www.SweatHelp.org to download the list and bring it to your pediatrician.

Maybe he’s dehydrated, or maybe he’s just hot.
Try giving him something to drink or cool down the room.
If he still does it I reccomend you see a docter immediately.

I’d get a second opinion. Doesn’t sound normal. He could get severely dehydrated.

you should try a different doctor and maby monitor his blood pressure if he sweats alot and has not done anything to make him sweat there is something not quite right it may be nothing but not worth taking that chance
