My Kid Recently Joined A Playgroup And I Afraid That They Are Giving Some Sedatives. Any Way To Confirm It?
My kid recently joined a reputed playgroup school and my wife is afraid that they are giving him some sedatives to control my kid’s hyper activeness. He used to be tired after returning from the school. I spoken with school correspondent and she is promising that they are not using any such sedatives. Is there any way to confirm it.

well they are right.. a child is usually very tired from school/playgroups at the end of the day..
on the other hand, what your wife is concerned about is not unheard of. they just caught a school giving benadryl or some type of cold medication that made them sleepy and calm. the mom couldnt figure out why her child was so sleepy everyday, took the child to the ER and got a blood test. sure enough, it was in his system!!
do some background checks, observe the class, talk to parents, etc
good luck!

I sincerely doubt they are giving any children any drugs. I think your wife sounds paranoid. It is quite common for children to be very tired after school as they are so busy while there.
If you really must put your doubts to rest, I’d say the only way to confirm it is to see a dr. and ask for blood tests.

1) go to the doctors-they can arrange a blood test to see if anything unusual is in the blood system.
2) police-again they can arrange for blood tests
3) Contact OFSTED (if you are in England) and make a formal complaint.
Maybe the behaviour is being controlled because the setting are good at their job-he’s interested, stimulated by new experiences and toys, be in relationships with other children and adults etc But if you are concerned then see above!

I think that’s stunningly unlikely – giving drugs without consent? They’d go to jail for doing that. Most playgroups aren’t allowed to give kids drugs at all, even if they have been prescribed and have the parents consent (emergency medication such as inhalers excepted).

Hes probably worn out after having a busy day. Kids do loads in one day at playgruop. Just to check though ask him what he did today. Kids will always say everything they did so if they gave him sedatives he would say they gave a little round sweet today or whatever. Then you know if its true.

That sounds awful! If it’s any consolation, kids usually ARE tired when they come back from a playgroup situation because of all the stimulation.

One way that you can confirm it is by going asking if you can sit in one day,and then you can see for sure.
