What Accessories Should I Put In A Kids Bathroom?

Posted on February 25th, 2010 in Articles by Tangkau

The theme is whimsical street scene with cars, trucks, buses. I used to have all the matching bath stuff, but the paint is all chipping off, and they look terrible. What can I accessorize with instead? I was going to put candles in there, but that doesn’t make much sense in a kids bathroom.

Use a plastic pickup truck as the soap dish…..
    Just stick with your theme.
A very small tire turned on it’s side can hold a plant or tissues.
A black (indoor outdoor) welcome mat can have yellow dotted lines painted down the center.
If you go to a salvage yard you can find car door handles to use as cabinet knobs. Rear view mirrors can be used as towel holders.
Stop lights or traffic lights (there are a lot of fake ones on the internet) can be used as night lights.

you could re-paint the old stuff. or if that’s not an option, get smushy chairs and some step stools and decorate them like cars (paint, fabric, fake wheels). decorate the back of the toilet like the windsheild of a car and the lid like a hood. put wheels on the bath tub and a steering wheel at one end of it.

Why not repaint them instead. if they are pottery it’s easy to do with acrylic paints. if plastic it may be a bit harder, though they do make paints that adhere to plastic.
If you aren’t the crafty type though how about a total change. There are many sea themes that are kid oriented, with bright fish, dolphins etc. Who knows you may spark an interest.

Maybe you could find a set of towel bars, and brush holders and such as a theme. John Deere stuff is really out there right now. That might fit. Or maybe more like a firehouse theme with dalmations and fire engines. Or just find some old toys and get creative………….
