When it comes to baby showers, you will all sorts of cute clothes featuring themed colours or the latest designs like “Thomas the Tank Engine” and “Sponge Bob Square Pants”. As a parent, once your baby is home you are more concerned with clothes which will help protect baby, keeping them warm and comfortable. Your baby is very sensitive to nature, so you want clothes suitable for the current season in which they are born in.
Those babies born in Summer or in a warm climate, you will be concerned about the sunlight and overheating for baby’s sensitive skin. Exposure to light with the damage to the ozone layer means more protection is necessary. You will want to put up a shade over your baby’s pram or baby seat in the car whilst you are outside to protect from the sun’s harmful rays. Out on the beach you can buy the modern pop-up tents and parasols which are very useful. Provide lots of ventilation so that your baby can still get fresh air and not overheated. Keep your baby away from the sun’s direction so it doesn’t get in their eyes.
All-in-Ones are great lightweight summer wear made of cotton, a breathable material for baby which are easier to put on than a top and bottoms. They are comfy and extras can put in a baby bag for those little accidents that can occur. summer means that your baby will not need shoes whilst you are pushing them around in a stroller with temperatures going up to the 80’s in Fahrenheit. Always keep a blanket with you for when you enter air conditioned buildings, when the air temperature may suddenly drop.
Babies are best dressed in layers of clothes when it comes to Winter. There will be variations in temperature from the cold outside to heated buildings. You will be avoiding staying outside for too long but transferring your baby from a car to a building, will still require some warm clothing. Those living in areas which have a lot of snow still need to be aware of sunburn if there is sunlight, as it bounces back from all angles. Wrapping your baby up with hats, mittens and socks will keep most of their body heat in. Babysuits which button all the way down are excellent as a few popperstuds can be undone without too much fuss for your baby, to allow some of that heat to escape.
Dressing your baby in layers works for most weather conditions, as a layer can be taken on or off as required. Baby is very sensitive to sudden temperature changess, more so than an adult, so layers work well to combat this. Keep extra clothes for your baby like a sweater, or dress your baby in a romper suit under some warm clothing, so that you are prepared for what Mother Nature decides to bring. Keeping new mothers on their toes! is what the seasons do!

Understanding Baby Language – What Your Baby Really Means

Posted on November 21st, 2009 in Articles by Tangkau

Papenting tips

How does a baby communicate? Babies can’t express themselves with words as we do; so they cry. Whatever the reason, these precious innocent darlings open their mouths and communicate the best way they can.
Babies don’t understand the change from being snug and warm in the womb to being cilled on occasional diamper changes and bath times; or being moved from one position to the next to get some type of clothing on. When these occurrences happen, he or she shows this confusion by crying. Babies learn at an early stage when they cry, someone will eventually take care of the problems at hand.
Reasons for crying can vary in babies. The mother or father can tone into the source of distress and decipher the resons mostly by using common sense. By doing small things at first, babies respond by stop crying and being content.
The first three months is like the trial period. this is when babies will cry the most. Getting into a special routine right from the beginning will help in fewer crying sections. Both parents and baby are learning what needs to be done. Let’s check out some reasons for babies to cry.
Mealtime: Babies don’t know why but their stomach may hurt and the baby soon discovers when they take in food their stomach stops hurting.
Discomfort when the baby is wet or messy. He or she will cry to get a dry bottom. It’s the parents’ job to discover the source of discomfort and take care of it. Making baby happy again.
Boredom, this is a big source of where the crying may come in. He or she may need attention and stimulation; to enable the baby to learn and interact with others around him or her. Picking him or her up and moving them and playing with them helps provide this stimulation they need. Some people believe this will only spoil the child; others believe it only helps the child to grow.
Not wanting to sleep will also cause a baby to cry. Not wanting to miss anything going on around them.
Aside from the usual things that make babies cry, there are a number of other reasons could trigger a crying fit. For instance, getting started or surprised, the baby will cry because he or she doesn’t understand what just happened. Some babies have an instinctive sense that tells them not to trust some people and they will cry until they are back in a familiar set of arms.
Let’s not forget the medical reasons for babies to cry. Maybe a stuffed up nose or a cough that won’t let them sleep. Some babies have colic, and he or she can’t lie down flat because it hurts. New discoveries in medicine have diagnosed babies with acid reflex, the babies will cry because of the sore throat of burping up his or her meal after each feeding.
As you get to know this little and vulnerable person, you will discover the different tones he or she uses. There is a different tone for each discomfort. Sometimes the cry will be weak and soft, maybe at nap time because they are tired. The cry could be more demanding and louder too when he or she is hungry. The worst kind of cry is the shrieking and screaming.
The good news is as the baby grows older, his or her crying becomes less frequent.

Get the house situated with everything before the big day comes. This will makes the transition easier and less stressful for everyone involved.
However, getting all your baby needs is downright expensive. Babies need clothes, diapers, a crib, bedding and so much more before they come home. All these items add up and you could find yourself spending thousands of dollars before your baby has even spent a night in your home. There are ways to save money and help keep wallet full.
1. Shop yard sales: With your brand new bundle of joy, you don’t want to think about your baby with used items. The thing is though many baby items are gently used. Because children grow so quickly, they barely have time to even grow into their clothing, toys or accessories. Check out yard sales to see if there is anything you need for a few bucks.
2. Thrift stores and discount stores: These two stores go hand in hand because they offer many of the same products. There have great clothes for the baby. The only difference with the discount store is that the clothing is usually new. There was a bad stitch or an irregular item that has been marked down and you can save a lot of money this way on designer items.
3. Buy clothes one size bigger: Especially when your baby is a newborn, buy clothes that are one size bigger. They will grow into 3-6 months extremely quickly and you might only get a few wears out of the 0-3 month clothing.
4. Buy pajama gowns: These gowns are practical and will last for a while. The baby doesn’t usually grow out of the gowns quickly. The gowns are practical because when the baby needs a diaper change, you only need to lift the gown and take care of business. No snapping or buttoning with the gown.
5. Use baby laundry detergent: There are soaps that are made just for babies. Besides being gentle to reduce allergic reactions in children, the baby-specific soap also allows the clothes to be washed without any harsh ingredients. This will help the clothing last longer. Remember to wash everything before your baby gets a hold of it. Dust and other particles could be caught up in the clothing while they where in the store and you want to make sure your baby is getting clean clothing.
6. Pay attention to the seam: Quality does mean something in baby clothing. The seam should be closed and preferably enclosed. These types of seams are sensitive to your baby’s needs and there is no thought of pulling on loose strings or scratching themselves.
7. Keep on the lookout for great sales and deals. Many big department stores will have major sales around big holidays. You might be able to find some good investments this way. Get Your Baby To Sleep

Posted on November 10th, 2009 in Articles by Tangkau

Papenting tips

New parents have many responsibilities. Close to the top of the list is to develop and nurture good sleep patterns and sleeping habits for their new baby. Newborns need to transition from sleeping with the mother to sleeping alone, but getting your baby to learn to sleep on his own takes some time. However, there are many benefits for both the baby and the parents when this takes place. There are a seemingly endless supply of tips and helpful hints to assist parents with this tricky task. Research and try as many as it takes to find out what works best for your baby and you. Trust your intuition and never give up until you have found that magic combination. The reward of your baby and you both getting a good night of sleep on a consistent basis is worth the effort.

Most of the advice you will find to help with your baby’s sleep deals with establishing schedules, habits and associations for your baby just before and during bedtime. Associating bedtime with sleeping is the goal. The sooner you can achieve that association, the more likely the baby will go to sleep without a struggle. Establishing the differences between daytime and nighttime is something that most advisors seem to ignore. Creating the understanding in your baby the change from being awake during daytime and falling asleep at night is a very valuable step. Here are some methods you can try.

Many times your baby has been very active throughout the day and is too stimulated to relax and fall to sleep. Employ one of those sling-type baby carriers that hold your baby close to your body while allowing you to be free to go about your regular activities around the house. Your baby will love being in close contact with you. This will provide ample time for your baby to calm down slowly from that hyped feeling of stimulation and excitement.

Many times the routine of transitioning between thirty minutes or an hour before bedtime is performed by the mother. This may be working against you. Try this with the father. Just before moving the baby into the bed, have Dad hold and cradle the baby close. His voice is generally much deeper than Mom’s is and often the baby can be more soothed by it. This change in routine can be learned as a triggering mechanism for the baby – “Dad is holding me, it must be almost time for sleep.”

Whether you find it in a listing of baby tips or discover it on your own, one of the methods of transitioning into bedtime is to simply take the baby for a car ride. While this idea may seem to be a perfect “quick fix,” I would advise against it. In the beginning, it may seem like a good deal. After all who wouldn’t trade a little inconvenience for a night of peace and quite and sleep? However, as your baby becomes accustomed to that nightly driving ritual, dependence may develop and it will not take long to become much more than just an inconvenience.

The idea is to begin slowly with these transition techniques. Once you and your baby have found the magic formula and have built an almost automatic routine, then just as slowly transition away from them and into a much more simple bedtime pattern. The goal here is to teach your baby to sleep on its own.

Good Night and enjoy your baby and your rest!

They also thrive better in an alkaline environment. So How Can This Help Us?1. The Timing Of IntercourseThe limited lifespan of male sperm means that the timing of intercourse is of the utmost importance. To conceive a baby boy, you need to have intercourse at the time of ovulation. If you have intercourse a couple of days before ovulation, the male sperm will have perished by the time the egg is released. Ovulation kits can prove very useful in pinpointing the exact day of ovulation.2. Trying For a Girl Baby – Tips to Conceive a Daughter

Papenting tips

If you have decided that you would like to have a daughter, there are a number of steps which you can take to increase the odds in your favor. Trying for a girl baby is not as difficult as you might think and you need not leave it all to chance. Firstly, it is important to dismiss old wives tales and heresay and try to concentrate on tips to have a daughter which are based around known scientific facts. Many couples express a desire to have a baby of the gender of their choice but very few choose to do anything about it. I feel that if more couples knew how simple it can be to influence your baby’s sex, then more would actually do something about it. When trying for a baby girl, the timing of intercourse is extremely important. The female sperm is much stronger than male sperm and it can live longer than its male counterparts. However, the disadvantage of female sperm is that it is slower moving. This effectively means that in a straightforward “race”, male sperm is likely to win, so what you need to do is to use the robustness of the female sperm to your advantage and the way you can do this is by timing intercourse carefully.First of all, establish when you ovulate. Women will ovulate 14 days before the first day of their monthly period. Now if you have a regular cycle, this is easy to determine. However, if your cycle is irregular, or you want to be absolutely sure you are getting this right, I would recommend using an ovulation predictor kit. You may want to use one over two or three months to get to know your cycle.  Once you know when ovulation is going to take place, when trying for a girl baby you should have intercourse on the two days before ovulation. This will mean that although the male sperm will have reached the fallopian tubes first, they will have perished before ovulation, leaving the female sperm ready and waiting to fertilize the ovum. The timing of intercourse is just one way to help you conceive a daughter. To give yourself a high chance of success, consider using a multifaceted approach which combines various scientifically based techniques.

If you would like to see tried-and-tested, all-encompassing methods which will help you to conceive a daughter, there is an excellent guide which is based on scientific rather than anecdotal principles. It includes all the information you need to successfully choose your baby’s gender and has been proven to be 95% accurate. To see this fully guaranteed, comprehensive risk-free method please visit Pick Your Baby’s Gender. Rather than being one of the many couples who leave matters to chance, take control and be proactive. Trying for a girl baby need not be difficult and you will not be left with that “what if” feeling for ever.

Colic Baby Tips – Knowing The Symptoms

Posted on November 7th, 2009 in Articles by Tangkau

Papenting tips

The major colic baby symptom is continuous crying for some periods of time, and the sound of the cry is much more intense than that of other infants. A colic cry is often described as a piercing, relentless scream. It can stop as abruptly as it starts and is often heard during or immediately after a feeding, especially in cases when it is due to acid reflux. Although this crying could be happened at any time, it is usually the worse in the evening. Colic baby may lift his head, draw his legs up to their tummy, become red in the face and pass wind. Some babies refuse to eat. Difficult to stay asleep is also very common.
Colic is diagnosed by the “rule of threes” – if a baby cries at least three hours a day, three days per week, for three weeks in a row, then that baby is considered to be suffering from colic. Colic usually starts when the baby is two weeks old and ends when the baby is 100 days old, which is approximately three and a half months of age. In addition, premature baby is no more likely to suffer colic than a full term baby. The colic baby sounds as tough he is in tremendous pain. His face may be twisted and strained, causing onlookers to be highly concerned.
Normally, colic (except due to acid reflux problem) is not a serious condition. Research shows that babies with colic continue to eat and gain weight normally, despite the crying. The main problem with the condition is the stress and anxiety it creates within the home. Parents and other family members may find it difficult to cope with the continuous crying, so it’s important to have support now and then.
Each baby will show different colic symptoms. Some may show a number of symptoms while some will only show one.
Below are some of the most common colic baby symptoms.
-They do not generally cry himself to sleep but instead continue to cry relentlessly, sometimes for hours.
-They do not tend to wind down; instead they tend to wind up and work themselves into frenzy.
-They do not always follow a pattern. What calms them at a given moment may excite them at another.
-Unlike other infants, when crying begins the colicky infant will rarely stop crying on his own, so waiting is out usually does not work. Instead, intervening quickly is helpful.

Buying Shoes For Baby – Tips To Make A Wise Choice

Posted on November 6th, 2009 in Articles by Tangkau

Papenting tips

It would be absolutely adorable to look at a kid walk around with a new pair of Nike. But, experts say that it is unnecessary to get them a pair of shoes till they start walking around properly. It is always better to keep the toddler go around without shoes and barefooted as it increases the balance in the kid and it allows their toes to work, which is very important.
But still, even when the kids spend more time on their knees than on their feet, its time for the parents to get the kids a new pair of shoes. This is not for walking around, but to keep their toes and their legs from getting bruised or their toes from being stubbed and getting injured. So, what kind of shoe would serve this purpose?
The hard soled, old fashioned lace shoes are eventually voted out of the list, because these shoes are used to train their legs, and the hard shoes will damage it. So, it is always suggested that they go in for shoes that are softer. The soles must be anti-skid, and they must prevent falls. They must be flexible enough to take all the twists and turns given by the leg. The shoes must also be ventilated properly and must be made of natural materials to prevent the feet from sweating, which will make the kid feel really uncomfortable.
The first shoe worn by the baby must always fit its leg properly. The shoes must not bind or chafe the feet anywhere. When you are in the store looking for shoes, take your time, let your kid feel comfortable in the shoes he is choosing. There must be enough space inside the shoe and the little one must not have the shoe on very tight. It is always better that you try to tie and untie the lace and get the acknowledgement from the boss. It is better to get a Velcro type shoe at first, because the kid might untie the lace and end up falling down at times. Finally, it is the kid who chooses, so, let him take whichever he feels he is comfortable in. Velcro type shoes are best for kids and toddlers.
It is always suggested that the kid must be taken around for a walk apart from the time when it is going around shopping with you. Shoes must be purchased in the evenings, because the feet swell late in the afternoon. So, if they are purchased in the evenings, the shoes fit them all the time and make them feel comfortable.
As the kid grows up, it becomes more active, and it is the parents’ duty to check the shoe every month. New shoes can be bought once every six months, which is the average growth rate. And the worn out shoes must be replaced with new ones, and the cracked ones must be fixed or replaced immediately.
So, just go around, shop for the best, and give your kid the best.
